Under the direction and supervision of the Director, the Toddler Head Teacher will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the toddlers in our program and the assigned classroom.  The teacher is responsible for ensuring the children’s social, physical, emotional, and intellectual development in program. The teacher creates a supportive environment and quality experience focused on our YMCA core values of caring, honesty, inclusion, respect, and responsibility.

1. Supervise and implement the appropriate toddler activities in classroom, assuring safe and age-appropriate for new walkers on mat time.
2. Comfortable and skilled at changing diapers, if needed. 
3. Follow the toddlers feeding and nap schedule given by parent/guardian.
4. Effectively communicate with parents through Class DOJO platform the child’s daily schedule, sharing pictures of activities, play and classroom time. 
5. Understand and implement all emergency plans and procedures of your classroom and facility. Ensure that the children who are being picked up at the school are released only to the child’s custodial parent/guardian or person authorized by the custodial parent/guardian.
6. Responsible for the cleanliness/appearance of the classroom, maintaining the quality of supplies, equipment, materials in the classroom, bulletin boards, changing tables, crib, strollers, high chairs, etc.
7. Ensures that the children are released only to the custodial parent/guardian or person authorized by the custodial parent/guardian.

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in a child care or babysitting setting.
• Must have experience working with and caring for infants and toddlers, changing diapers and feeding infants.
• Must be CPR, First Aid and Epi-pen certified.
• Must have the ability to work well with young children in close cooperation with the teacher
